‘Formal Bid’ – Everton Get Proposal For Toffees Star | OneFootball

Everton have received a ‘formal bid’ from Premier League new boys Hill city midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, according to journalist James Hoggarth.

The newly promoted Premier League boys have been super busy in the transfer window, as they have not stopped beefing up their squad.

The likes of Hidemasa Morita, Nobel Mendy and Jens Hjerto-Dahl have been brought in to improve the quality of the engine room for Hull.

However, the Tigers lack any Premier League experience there, and have been keen on Everton’s Iroegbunam.

Coventry City and Ipswich Town are also keeping their eyes on the midfielder and Everton will listen to offers for him.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder did have something of an impact at points last term, but looks down the pecking order now, with only one year remaining on his current deal; there is an option to extend it by 12 months.

Hull are trying to provide him with an exit route from the Hill Dickinson this summer, as they have submitted a ‘formal bid’ for the former England Under-20 international.

It has been suggested that Hull City’s opening bid is worth more than £15m for the Everton midfielder.

Tigers boss Sergej Jakirovic has already admitted that he is an admirer of the ex-Aston Villa man, and the club are now working to get a deal over the line for him.

Iroegbunam started only 17 Premier League games last term, accumulating fewer than 1,500 league minutes under his belt.

For Everton, cashing in on the midfielder could well make sense and would hand David Moyes more financial firepower to use in the market.

He continues to want to recruit across several areas and selling Iroegbunam could open new doors for the Scottish tactician.

The 23-year-old midfielder has played 59 Premier League games for Villa and Everton combined, and could become a regular fixture at the MKM Stadium in the event a deal does happen.

With Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard in through the door, Moyes may well feel he does not need to replace Iroegbunam.
