Rival Premier League club confirm interest in Everton man

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic has admitted he is hopeful the club can sign Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam.

Iroegbunam has emerged as a target for Hull as Jakirovic looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the new season.

“I think there is progress in this player,” Jakirovic said.

“I like how he is playing and he is very experienced. I think we need this profile for a midfielder and I hope we will sign him.”

The Hull boss confirmed discussions are ongoing over a potential deal, with both a loan and permanent transfer being considered.

“But, we will see,” he continued.

“It could be a loan or permanent transfer. There is a lot of exchanging. He is in the last year of his contract which is an advantage for us.”
