Former Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi searching for a new club | OneFootball

Speaking exclusively to Sport1, former Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi (31) has confirmed that he’s been in discussions with several clubs are the German defender searches for a new club.

“There have been intensive discussions recently with those responsible at some clubs,” said Mustafi. “But negotiations can also drag on. I’m waiting and ready for a new task. The anticipation is great. It still tingles, I noticed that when I was working as a pundit and standing on the sidelines.”

When asked whether his new club will be in the Bundesliga or abroad, Mustafi commented: “It will probably be abroad.

“I told my father and my advisor that I was open to anything. I speak five languages and my time abroad also made me very adaptable. So I’m pretty flexible.”

Mustafi has been without a club since July 2023 after his contract at Levante expired. After joining the Spanish side in 2021, the 31-year-old central-defender played just 15 games across all competitions and was sidelined for much of his time there, missing 59 games for Levante.

It’s not clear as to which clubs Mustafi has been negotiating with.
