Omari Hutchinson is in Milan to complete a move from Nottingham Forest to AC Milan, four years after leaving Arsenal for Chelsea in search of a quicker route to senior football.

The former Arsenal academy player arrived at Milan’s Linate Airport on Sunday evening after Forest gave him permission to travel.

A verbal agreement between the clubs had already been reached, according to reporting cited by The Athletic and Italian outlets.

The deal is expected to be a season-long loan worth about €4 million, with an option to buy set at around €40 million.

Hutchinson was due to undergo a medical and sign his contract on Monday, 31 August.

Hutchinson joined Arsenal’s academy from Charlton Athletic in 2015 and remained there until 2022, when he moved to Chelsea.

He did not make a senior competitive appearance for Arsenal and went on to make only two for Chelsea before being sold to Ipswich Town for £20 million.

His progress at Ipswich led to another substantial move. Hutchinson scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 82 appearances for the Tractor Boys before joining Forest in 2025 for £40 million.

Last season, he scored once and registered eight assists in 41 appearances for Forest.

Now another move is close, with Hutchinson in Italy to complete the formalities of a switch to Milan. Arsenal’s sell-on clause is no longer valid, having already cashed that in when he moved to Ipswich.

AC Milan will be Hutchinson’s fourth club since leaving Arsenal just four years ago.
