Former Celtic favourite breaks silence on summer departure and outlines new ambitions | OneFootball

Reo Hatate has opened up on his deadline-day departure from Celtic as he outlined his ambitions following his move to Burnley.

The Japan international brought his four-and-a-half-year stay at Parkhead to an end when Burnley completed a permanent deal on September 1.

Hatate described the switch as a “great move” shortly after leaving Celtic, although his new club have endured a difficult start and remain without a Championship victory.

Taking to Instagram, Hatate said: “It’s been a bit, but I wanted to share the news of my move in my own words. First of all, I’m truly honoured to be part of Burnley FC, a club with such a rich and proud history. I’m enjoying every day playing in a top-class environment.

“I came here to win. I know we are going through a tough spell, but whatever the situation, what I need to do doesn’t change.

“Run, fight, and attack the goal. Help the team win in any way I can. Give everything in every training session, every game, every action. I believe the future is built on that.

“I’ll keep challenging myself to improve and go to the next level, no matter what. A new journey starts here.

“I’m really looking forward to fighting for this club and my teammates, together with all of you amazing supporters. Let’s go together. Up the Clarets.”
