The Villans announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
The 45-year-old returns to work a little over a month after being sacked by former club Everton. Sørensen spent more than three-and-a-half years in charge of The Toffees. He guided the club through a difficult period of takeover uncertainty before building up the team once fresh investment was received. Despite some challenges both on and off the pitch, Everton were always competitive and Sørensen attracted plenty of praise for his work.
The Dane has lots more to offer the English game and he has swiftly been snapped up by Aston Villa.
After being appointed technical advisor, Sørensen said “Aston Villa have made significant investment into their women’s organisation during the past seasons and possess a formidable squad.
“I appreciate the opportunity to join during this period and work with Marisa [Ewers] and Natalia [Arroyo], a manager who I know well, to strengthen the technical foundation of the club.
“I’m excited to get started.”
Sørensen will work closely with Aston Villa head coach Arroyo and her backroom team, providing additional technical support where required.
