Former Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson says he thinks Pep Guardiola is the best manager of all time.

The Brazilian shot stopper left City to join Fenerbahçe this summer after eight years at the club.

And asked about his conversations with City boss Guardiola around leaving the club, he said: “The conversations are difficult to explain now because I spoke over the phone with him (Guardiola).

“After the game it doesn’t happen many times to speak with him.

“When I talked to him he said, ‘you need to come back to say goodbye properly.’ Yesterday he sent me a message about how many wins I’ve had in my career.”

Guardiola recently took charge of his 1000th game as a manager in City’s win over Liverpool, and Ederson believes there is no manager better than the Spaniard.

“I love Pep, I love his mentality,” he continued. “He’s the best coach of all time, for me. It was a pleasure to work with him.”
