One former Manchester United player has decided to call out those who were criticising Chelsea at the start of the season after major progress.

And he isn’t the only one to be using this week to call out those who have criticised Chelsea recently. talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has called out Tim Sherwood for doing the very same this week on his show.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea stepping up pursuit of Premier League striker – not Evan Ferguson!

It seems like it is the week for some telling us all that they told us so!! And why not eh?

Ben Foster is the latest to do it. The retired former United and Wrexham goalkeeper has been speaking about Chelsea this week.

Forster has always been quite positive on Chelsea to be honest in recent times, even through the more toxic of moments. And his backing of Chelsea now seems to be coming to fruition.

The Blues are doing much better now under Enzo Maresca. But at the start of this season they were being picked apart by some for having so many players in the squad.

Eating humble pie

Foster says we are all eating humble pie!

Foster says those critics will now be eating some humble pie after seeing where Chelsea currently are this season.

As cited on X this week, Foster said: “Going back to the start of the season, we were almost ridiculing Chelsea for the amount of players they have got. Everyone is kind of eating a bit of humble pie now.”

The thing is, people ridiculing were using inaccurate information. They were using academy players as part of the first team squad when they are youth players. The numbers they were using were all wrong anyway so the criticism never carried any weight.

And Chelsea’s big squad is proving to be vital this season too as they navigate so many games and have reduced injuries massively too.
