According to TeamTalk, Igor Tudor is expected to leave his interim role at Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent after weeks of internal discussions, with a pre-agreed change if Spurs lost to Nottingham Forest, and he is ready to step away following the death of his father, Mario. A shortlist includes former Monaco manager Adi Hutter and former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton.

The former Juventus and Croatia defender took charge last month after Thomas Frank’s departure. His first match ended in a 4-1 home defeat to Arsenal and he has yet to win in five Premier League games, taking one point in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

His only win came in Europe, a 3-2 home victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16. It was not enough after a 5-2 first-leg defeat in Madrid.

They then lost 3-0 at home to fellow strugglers Forest, leaving them one point and one place above the relegation zone.

Hughton, who played over 300 times for Spurs and spent 14 years on the staff, left in February 2008 for Newcastle, later becoming permanent manager after an interim spell. He remains the last boss to lead Newcastle to a home Tyne-Wear derby win, in October 2010.

If the change happens, the new interim’s first match would be at Sunderland on Sunday, April 12, with the Black Cats chasing Europe and Spurs seeking to ease relegation fears.
