Former QPR midfielder Ákos Buzsáky reported missing for a week | OneFootball

Hungarian football is growing increasingly concerned after former QPR and Plymouth Argyle midfielder Ákos Buzsáky was reported missing.

Budapest Police have confirmed that they have launched a search for the former Hungary international and are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate him.

Buzsáky has not been seen since 18 August, according to police, with his family also unable to contact him since then. His father told Hungarian newspaper Blikk that Ákos had spent much of the year in Greece, where he has business interests in construction.

“As we don't live together, we speak less often. The last time I spoke to him was last week,” his father said.

Police are understood to be following leads in both Hungary and Greece, although there is still no clear information about where Buzsáky was last seen.

Between 2004 and 2012, he became a popular figure at Plymouth Argyle and QPR, both of whom have since commented on his disappearance.

Buzsáky spoke openly in 2022 about struggling with addiction after retiring from football. There is currently no indication that this is connected to his disappearance.
