Wolves have been warned that clubs could keep tabs on Ladislav Krejci despite his permanent move being confirmed.
Ahead of the Czech Republic’s game with South Africa, former Wolves player Micky Gray said: “Ladislav Krejci had a very good first game, obviously got himself on the score sheet. A lot of talk about him maybe leaving. I know he was on loan at Wolves last season, but he's a talented centre-half and I'm sure there's a lot of Premier League sides to be keeping an eye on how he performs in these games.” The discussion aired on talkSPORT.
Commentator Ian Danter added: “I can't believe he'll stay in the Championship, Mick.” Gray replied: “I don't know. He's got too much talent, hasn't he?”
Danter continued: “He's clearly enjoyed his time at Wolves,” before adding: “But I think there are bigger opportunities for him. And what better way to display those qualities than at a World Cup.”
The 27-year-old joined Wolves on loan last summer from Girona. Despite their relegation to the Championship, an option to buy worth around £26m was triggered and the move became permanent after the initial loan spell.
Krejci then starred as the Czech Republic were held by South Africa at the Atlanta Stadium, winning the man of the match award. Reports have also linked him with Leeds United and Besiktas this summer.
