The Juventus Women’s First Team enjoyed a memorable 2-1 win over Roma at the Allianz Stadium on Serie A Matchday 6, and a number of individuals shone for the Bianconere.
As a result of their excellent performances, Emma Kullberg, Estelle Cascarino, Barbara Bonansea and Sofia Cantore were all named in the official Top 11 - Team of the Week - for Matchday 6.
Let’s take a look at the reasons why…
With two huge blocks - and other defensive contributions - Emma Kullberg was a rock at the back for the Bianconere. She was also the only defender to have won 100% of the battles she contested, of those to have been involved in at least two.
Beyond putting in another dominant defensive performance against Roma, Estelle Cascarino provided a sublime assist for Barbara Bonansea’s opening goal. The assist was her third of the season, making her the defender with the most provided in Serie A this season. In fact, only Veronica Boquete (five) has more than Estelle this term.
Scoring the opening goal of the game, Barbara Bonansea got her first in Serie A this season and her fourth in Serie A against the Giallorosse. It was her 61st goal for the Bianconere, with only Cristiana Girelli (87) boasting more.
Sofia Cantore’s fine start to the season continued with her sixth goal of the campaign across all competitions, which is at least twice as many of any of her teammates. She also completed 90% of the passes she attempted in the final third of the pitch, again more than anybody.
