Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping crisis could hand 16-year-old Leonard Prescott a Champions League debut, with several records within reach.

According to BuLi News, Manuel Neuer is out, Sven Ulreich is out, and Jonas Urbig is possibly out, pushing the teenager into contention.

If he features against Atalanta, and with Bayern holding a 6-1 first leg lead, the New York-born Germany youth international would become the youngest goalkeeper to play in the Champions League and the youngest goalkeeper in Bayern’s senior history.

He could also set two further marks by keeping a clean sheet, the youngest to do so in the Champions League and the youngest for Bayern’s senior team.

It is a reminder that opportunity can follow adversity, and if Prescott does make his bow, it could be the start of a story Bayern supporters remember.
