On the "Les Grandes Bouches" show on Canal+, former Mali international Fousseni Diawara made no secret of his ambition to become head coach of the Mali national team.

Fousseni Diawara was asked by a viewer who expressed a desire to see him on the Eagles' bench. The former Saint-Étienne defender’s response was direct and unequivocal.“It's only natural to be ambitious, and if I’m called upon, I’ll try to be ready. In fact, I can say that I’m ready now. I am ambitious and I simply feel capable of taking on the role.”

This statement comes at a turbulent time for Malian football, with the executive committee led by Mamoutou Touré stepping down and rumors swirling about the possible departure of national team coach Tom Saintfiet.

Fousseni Diawara is currently in charge of Mali’s U-23 team and has previously served as an assistant with the senior national squad.
