Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Last week’s preview discussed a high volume of goalmouth action from Yoane Wissa (£6.4m) over recent weeks. The Bees forward's three shots on target versus the Toffees takes him to 13 over the last eight matches, part of 30 attempts during this period - highlighting once more his potential for attacking returns.

Wissa added to his Gameweek 26 goal against Leicester by putting the Bees ahead against Everton in first-half stoppage-time.

A long throw bounced inside the penalty area and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) nodded against the crossbar, with the ball coming back down to be met by a flying Wissa header.

The forward’s season-long total of 25 big chances ranks joint-sixth in the league.

Meanwhile, both Nathan Collins (£4.5m) and Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.1m) were able to carve out a couple of efforts for themselves and goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.4m) collected a save point based on foiling Beto (£5.0m) during three one-on-ones.

The Spotlight

Another Brentford attacker with good underlying numbers is Kevin Schade (£5.1m).

Named in the most recent five line-ups, his latest half-dozen league starts have brought two goals, 14 close-range shots, four key chances and three big ones set up for team-mates.

The German has had just two shots in the box less than FPL top scorer Mo Salah (£13.8m) in this period.

Listed as an FPL midfielder, he exploded into this season with three goals and an assist against Leicester in Gameweek 13. Those 23 points remain the second-biggest score from a single 2024/25 match.

What stands out about Schade is his price point. Whether it’s because of injury or match postponements, none of Morgan Rogers (£5.6m), Amad Diallo (£5.4m), Jacob Murphy (£5.1m) or Ismaïla Sarr (£5.5m) are taking part in Blank Gameweek 29. But Schade will be.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, several players gathered 15 points in Gameweek 27. Jaden Philogene (£5.3m) got a brace for Ipswich, while Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) combined a clean sheet and a goal.

Sarr’s nine-game goalless streak has seen his ownership recently dwindle by over 400,000 but that didn’t stop him scoring twice against Aston Villa.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) got two assists while Arsenal, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest kept clean sheets.

In Demand

Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz (£5.0m) continues to be in a rich vein of form that’s becoming difficult to resist.

The attacking wing-back has ended six of his last seven games with at least one return, whether it be a clean sheet (four), goal (one) or assist (three).

Those planning a Free Hit in Blank Gameweek 29 will be excited to see that the Eagles surround this with Ipswich and Southampton clashes.

His Palace team-mate Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m) is the most transferred in this Gameweek. However, the forward picked up a head injury in the FA Cup against Millwall which could see him miss Gameweek 28.

The frustrations caused by Cole Palmer (£11.1m) reached a new level last Tuesday. Many FPL managers held onto him recently, knowing that back-to-back home meetings with relegation battlers were on the horizon.

Despite having plenty of chances, he blanked in the 4-0 victory over Southampton.

Captaincy

Backing Chelsea’s fixture turned out to be the correct idea for the armband in Gameweek 27. But straying from Salah to Palmer, ultimately, was not positive for the 1,397,524 managers who backed the Chelsea midfielder.

Even though the Egyptian ‘only’ punished these managers by assisting once, don’t expect the same mistake to be made in Gameweek 28.

Liverpool will be hoping to heap more misery onto Southampton in a match between the Premier League's top and bottom sides.

This is likely not the week to back against the Salah captaincy.
