Goals from Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise gave France a 2–0 win over Germany in Stuttgart on Sunday, securing them third place in this season’s UEFA Nations League.
Germany, who were hosting the finals, had hoped to bounce back after their semi-final loss to Portugal. But they went behind just before the break, when Mbappé expertly brought the ball down and slotted home his 50th goal for France.
Deniz Undav looked to have equalised for the hosts shortly after the restart, but his goal was chalked off following a VAR check.
Les Bleus stayed on top for most of the game and could’ve stretched their lead earlier, before Mbappé set up Olise late on to seal the result.
Meanwhile, Portugal and Spain were set to battle it out in the final later that evening.
