Still the all-time leading scorer for Les Bleus with 57 goals despite his international retirement, Olivier Giroud knows his record is under threat. Speaking recently to L’Équipe, the former Arsenal striker calmly discussed the possibility of Kylian Mbappé overtaking him: "Honestly, it will be a huge source of pride if he surpasses me."

Giroud also joked: "As long as he doesn't catch up to me too quickly, I'm fine with it!" At 39, Olivier Giroud is savoring the journey he's had and is happy to pass the torch to the next generation. A humble handover—very much in keeping with his career.

For the record, Kylian Mbappé currently has 53 goals with Les Bleus.
