Facing the media this Thursday, Didier Deschamps could not avoid questions from journalists about Ousmane Dembélé's latest injury. The French coach took a jab at PSG.
On Thursday, Didier Deschamps unveiled his list of 24 players called up for the November camp. The France manager revisited Ousmane Dembélé’s injury with PSG during the match against Bayern Munich (1-2). While Dembélé’s case sparked tension between club and country back in September, the French tactician was keen not to stoke any further controversy.
"I’m especially sad for 'Ous.' Last season, he was spared, but now he’s racking up injuries. It’s not good not to have him with us, but don’t count on me to add more fuel to the fire with PSG. They made decisions, just as we did. It’s not good for PSG or for us—something we have in common," Deschamps explained.
Asked about PSG’s management—who had previously criticized the French national team’s handling—Deschamps replied: "I’m not here to give lessons. I would never presume to say anything about PSG, Marseille, or any other club. They deal with their day-to-day, and they make their decisions, just like we do."
