Metz have suspended academy director Francis De Taddeo, appointing David Carré to lead the club’s youth set-up. The announcement came on Tuesday.
According to Culture Grenat, De Taddeo was first suspended in July, then summoned to a hearing citing 10 counts of gross misconduct.
The 68-year-old had been due to advise president Bernard Serin on youth development during the off-season, but was relieved of his duties. He returned in 2022 after an initial spell from 1986 to 2006, and is said to be determined to contest the case at the labour court.
The shift comes as Metz’s academy draws attention in Ligue 2, with 10 newly turned professionals integrated over the summer.
Carré, 50, is a familiar face, having worked at Metz from 1999 to 2006, progressing from the academy to assistant to Jean Fernandez with the first team. He later led Auxerre’s reserves for seven years, and spent 2024-2025 in charge of Quevilly-Rouen Métropole.
