Rennes have appointed Franck Haise as head coach, the club announced on Wednesday. The former Lens and Nice coach oversaw his first training session in the morning.

Two months after leaving Nice, the 54-year-old will be presented at Roazhon Park in a press conference around 16:00.

He replaces Habib Beye, who was dismissed 10 days ago following a 1-3 defeat at Lens on 7 February.

During the interim, Sébastien Tambouret guided Rennes to a notable 3-1 win over PSG on Friday.

Haise’s first match is away to Auxerre on Sunday at 15:00 in Ligue 1 matchday 22. He will try to guide Rennes, sixth in Ligue 1, into Europe.
