François Letexier to referee Argentina v Egypt World Cup last-16 tie

FIFA has appointed French referee François Letexier to take charge of Argentina v Egypt in the World Cup last 16 on Tuesday, kick-off 18:00.

Letexier will work with his regular assistants, Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni. Norway's Espen Eskas and Isaak Bashevkin will serve as fourth official and video assistant respectively.

This is Letexier's first World Cup and Tuesday will be his third match at the tournament.

He handled Côte d'Ivoire v Ecuador, a 1-0 win for Côte d'Ivoire, on 15 June. He stepped in for the injured Michael Oliver and earned praise.

He later oversaw Cape Verde v Saudi Arabia, which finished 0-0, on the 27th.
