Franjo Ivanovic to join Lens from Benfica on loan with option to buy

According to L'Équipe, Lens have agreed a loan with a fee and an option to buy for Benfica's Croatia international Franjo Ivanovic.

The move was kept under wraps and finalised in recent days, in keeping with the Lens hierarchy's usual approach.

Ivanovic, 22, has nine caps and two goals for Croatia, and is due to arrive in northern France in the coming days.

The signing targets the centre-forward role that Lens have been seeking to fill for several weeks.

Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
