Benfica have reached an understanding with Lazio over Franjo Ivanovic’s exit, though the deal is not final and Lens remain in contention.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the proposal is a loan with an option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain targets are met.

The move has been valued at around €20m. Benfica are seeking to recoup about €22m, the amount they invested in the striker.

Real Betis were linked but only pursued a straight loan, not a permanent transfer.

Ivanovic has made 48 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing two assists, yet he did not secure a regular starting role.

The arrival of Jhon Durán has further limited his minutes, and the coming days could determine his destination.
