Frattesi arrives for Lazio medical after Inter change €15m terms | OneFootball

Davide Frattesi has finally arrived to begin his Lazio medical this evening, ready to complete a loan move from Inter at €5m with option to buy for another €10m and 50 per cent sell-on fee.

The midfielder landed at the airport in Rome and was greeted by local fans and media, where he posed with a Biancocelesti scarf.

He had been expected yesterday, but the transfer had to be reformulated after financial and registration problems emerged.

It was originally supposed to be a loan at €1m with obligation to buy for €14m plus 50 per cent of the future sale.

However, as that obligation would’ve weighed too heavily on the Lazio finances without sales first, it was changed to €5m for the loan and only an option to buy.

Inter retaining 50 per cent means his value on the market remains €30m, which had been the asking price for Nottingham Forest, Juventus and other interested parties.

Lazio’s social media channels referenced the delay with their caption: ‘The wait is over. Davide is here.’

It is a return home for Frattesi, who started out in the Lazio youth academy before crossing his home city to rivals Roma in 2014.

He flourished at Sassuolo, and was sold to Inter in 2023 for over €30m plus bonus.

The Italy international turns 27 next month and has always confessed to supporting Roma, but that didn’t seem to affect the welcome he received from Lazio fans.
