Former Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules has been spotted training with the Gunners first-team ahead of the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old is currently a free agent after he was released by Crawley Town in the summer, and he has been training with the Arsenal under-21s to maintain his fitness.
John-Jules is looking for a new club but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta decided to include him in the training session today with the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Noni Madueke and Martin Odegaard still unavailable due to injuries.
He passed through the Gunners academy system but spent most of his time away on loan after signing his professional contract in 2018.
John-Jules was on the bench for Arsenal in the 2020 FA Community Shield but was eventually released at the end of the 2023-24 season without making a first-team appearance.
He will now hope to keep training with the Gunners first-team for a while until he gets his next club, and Arteta including him in the session today is classy.
John-Jules finally overcame several injury problems in previous campaigns to play regularly last term, but Crawley Town relegating to League Two saw him move on.
He is good friends with Madueke and training with Arsenal is a great experience as he looks to continue his career in the lower divisions having played for six teams in League One.
Plenty of Arsenal academy graduates fail to reach the needed standards required to play in the Premier League, but opening their doors for some of them to train at their facilities is a kind gesture.
