According to L'Équipe, Wolverhampton midfielder Marshall Munetsi could leave the Premier League this winter, with French top-flight clubs monitoring a situation that has worsened since the club changed coach.

After beginning the season as a starter in 15 matches, the 29-year-old, contracted until 2028, has been on the bench since Rob Edwards replaced Vitor Pereira in early November.

The Zimbabwe international, capped 34 times, is out with a muscle strain until at least Boxing Day, when Wolves travel to Liverpool, and Edwards does not appear to be counting on him.

Clubs in France are seeking to exploit the opening, with initial contacts said to have been made, though no names have emerged. Munetsi would not be opposed to a return to France.

Munetsi spent nearly six years at Reims, making 148 top-flight appearances, before moving to England in February. Wolves could even accept a loan, a formula that would suit French sides.
