Frenkie de Jong pre-season photos spark concern across Barcelona fanbase | OneFootball

A photo of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong to have surfaced on Wednesday evening has sparked widespread concern amongst those of a Blaugrana persuasion.

This comes amid fears over the extent of the Dutchman’s ankle injury.

Midfielder De Jong is of course sidelined once more at present.

Owing to an injury suffered whilst lining out for Barcelona back in April, the former Ajax man was forced to sit out the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 campaign.

The hope was that as much would see De Jong back fully fit and firing in time for the beginning of pre-season training back in Catalunya’s capital.

If the latest images of the 26-year-old’s ankle to have surfaced online are anything to go by, however, then this can not yet be guaranteed.

This comes with De Jong’s right ankle still showing a frankly alarming level of swelling.
