Beichler era starts on Sunday at LASK

An eventful week is set for a thrilling finale! Following the change of coach, our Red Bulls, now under the leadership of Daniel Beichler, face their closest rivals when, on Sunday at 17:00 CET, we travel to the Raiffeisen Arena to face LASK in a top-of-the-table clash. LASK are level on points with us, sitting in second place on goal difference.

Everything went our way in the first meeting of the season, a 3-0 victory, but since then, the Linz side have been completely transformed. Under Dietmar Kühbauer's management, the Steel City side have climbed from second-to-last to second place after a disastrous start to the season.

After the winter break – during which the Upper Austrians completed their preparation period in Belek at the same time as us – their start to the new year has quite successful, albeit not quite as successful as their late autumn. In the cup quarter-finals, there was a narrow 3-2 derby victory against FC Blau-Weiß Linz, followed by a 1-0 league win against WSG Tirol and a 1-1 draw against Ried.

The main question this Sunday will be: can our team immediately implement a tactical plan of their new head coach Daniel Beichler and fend off the challenge from their pursuers? The ADMIRAL Bundesliga is slowly but surely entering the decisive phase of the season – and it's time to start winning!

Fans can follow the action either in the away sector at the stadium or from home, as usual, on Sky Sport Austria.

The time between my arrival and the first match is very short, so it's important that I gather as many impressions of my players as possible in the few days leading up to the LASK match. I'm looking forward to this top-of-the-table clash on Sunday. We're all excited for this encounter, also because we can show that we're a really good team.

We have a very difficult, but also exciting away match ahead of us. LASK are on an extraordinary run, having fought their way from the bottom of the table to almost the top. We want to end this run on Sunday and remain at the top of the standings. In this top match, the team that makes fewer mistakes and plays more consistently will probably come out on top. Clearly, that's the team we want to be.
