FLW's Rovers Fan Pundit doesn't understand why the Rao family keep clinging on to the Lancashire club
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
The figures from Blackburn Rovers’ latest accounts have sparked fresh questions about Venky’s continued ownership of the Lancashire club.
Since their arrival in 2010, the Lancashire Telegraph revealed the Indian conglomerate's mounting losses at Rovers have totalled £211m.
FLW's Rovers Fan Pundit, Simon Middlehurst, has been left baffled as to why the Rao family - who own Venky's - are still "interested in being owners."

Clearly, the £19.7m loss before player trading is just another example of how bad things are financially at Rovers.
According to Middlehurst, the ongoing losses simply do not make sense from a business perspective. He told FLW, "Yeah, it baffles me. Unsure why they’re still interested in being owners of Blackburn and why they don’t just sell.
"They’re obviously at a loss every season, they’re having to put their own money in to keep the club afloat," he added.
In truth, Rovers reportedly only avoided that larger loss due to the sale of Sammie Szmodics to Ipswich Town for around £10m - and it was a similar case last year before Adam Wharton’s club-record transfer to Crystal Palace.
What makes the situation even more confusing is the relationship, or really lack of one, between the Venky's and the Rovers fanbase, with Middlehurst continuing, "Surely it’s going to come to the point where - what is the point in keeping a hold of the club when they’re not willing to invest, I just don’t get it, don’t understand it."
In April this year, CEO Steve Waggott appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire to address this mounting fan frustration but said, "The way it stands presently I can't see them going anytime soon."
He also revealed there hadn't been a genuine offer to buy the club since being there for seven and a half years, which makes our Fan Pundit's concerns very valid to say the least.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect for Middlehurst and supporters like him is the complete lack of direction from the ones in charge.
The Fan Pundit concluded on his frustration by saying, "Especially when the fans aren’t really backing them or behind them as well, and that just continues to cause issues amongst the fans as well."
We all know that both former managers, Jon Dahl Tomasson and John Eustace, cited insufficient support from the ownership group as reasons for leaving the Lancashire club - albeit the latter’s decision to join Derby County sparked fresh protests amongst fans.
Pair the latest accounts with the Venky's reluctance to back a manager, and you can only see things continuing to get worse after having two near-miss attempts at promotion in three years.
Last season, Blackburn finished two points out of the play-offs in seventh, which was the same position the club ended up in two years earlier - but only goal difference kept them out then.
Whatever the motivation is for the Rao family to keep clinging on, for supporters like Middlehurst, the radio silence will unfortunately continue to “baffle” them.
It doesn't seem like the accounts will mean anything gets changed for the better either.
