Sam Field has been backed to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer, once he returns from his loan spell at Norwich City
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sam Field has fallen out of favour under Julien Stephan at Loftus Road, and consequently joined Norwich City on loan in the winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old has played his part in the Canaries' impressive rise to the top half of the Championship table, making nine league appearances since moving to Carrow Road.
Field has made 179 outings for QPR since joining the West London club permanently from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2021, but endured a lack of game time under Stephan.
The R's have struggled for consistency all season, but won both of their last two games ahead of the March international break, including a 6-1 thrashing over Portsmouth.

QPR have reached the business end of the Championship season with no relegation worries, but they also have no realistic chance of troubling the play-off spots.
Stephan will be eager to utilise the summer transfer window to build a squad that is more capable of launching a serious top-six bid next term.
Meanwhile, Football League World asked our QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, if he expects Field to leave the West London club permanently this summer.
Moir said: "I think it's utterly pointless if we were to offer Sam Field a new contract, especially considering the fact he's gone out on loan, and he's clearly not part of our plans.
"I think, if we were to do that, it would look pretty stupid. He'd probably be thinking 'He (Stephan) didn't want me this season, why on earth do you want me for next?'
"I just think Sam Field's time at QPR is done, and it sort of showed at the start of the season when he was clearly not going to get a lot of game time.
"I fully expect him to leave the club. I think it's right really, for him and for us. I think his time's just come to an end. Naturally, he's been here a few years now, and he's been a big part of the team when we've been struggling, and he's had good moments, bad moments.
"But I think I'm more than happy for him to be moved on now. I think we can do much better. I think we've got much better at the moment with the likes of (Nicolas) Madsen, (Jonathan) Varane etcetera. Even (Isaac) Hayden to an extent.
"So, I think Field leaving. It's just one of those things really. He's been here a long time, and he's going to go. I don't think it's a bad thing at all.
"We've moved on from him. I just think that he's a player that will do really, really well for you when you're struggling, or you need to be defensively solid.
"But if you want to be more of a threat going forward, I think he limits the side too much. I think he'll be leaving, whether that's joining Norwich on a permanent, or going somewhere else. He'll definitely be gone in the summer I think."

As alluded to by Moir, Field appears set to leave QPR this summer, having been deemed surplus to requirements by Stephan and sent on loan to Norwich.
However, if the Canaries sign the 27-year-old permanently, he could prove the R's wrong for sanctioning his permanent exit, rather than keeping him in West London.
Current form suggests that Philippe Clement's men are significantly more likely to finish in the Championship play-offs than QPR next season.
If Field helps Norwich achieve that outcome, the R's would be left envious and would regret his likely departure.
