FRIEND FOREVER

Article image:FRIEND FOREVER

After a football season in which AC Milan won the second derby on 8 March, International Women’s Day, it is only right to celebrate, recognise and thank them. To borrow a phrase from the singer Zucchero Fornaciari: lifelong rossonere, stylish women, sometimes proudly going against the grain. They are the AC Milan fans who supported the team at the stadium alongside husbands and partners, on their own or with company, with children, brothers, sisters, friends or fellow fans. They celebrated, they hoped, they suffered. All in a season in which the entire stadium paid tribute to Ornella Vanoni before Pulisic’s goal in the first derby, and in which the return fixture was won thanks to Estupiñan on a day cherished by women across the world. From the stands to the pitch: AC Milan Women ended the 2025/2026 Serie A season in fifth place.

Under the guidance of Suzanne Bakker, they collected 28 points from 22 matches, including prestigious wins over Juventus (2-1 in the first meeting, 1-0 in the second), while the Women’s Primavera side were crowned Champions of Italy for the 2025/2026 season. Led by Head Coach Matteo Zago, the Rossonere secured the Scudetto title on 11 May 2026 by defeating Sassuolo in a thrilling final decided on penalties. Throughout the season, San Siro welcomed numerous female celebrities. From the world of music: renowned Italian rapper Anna, Amici winner Sarah Toscano, and singer and actress Clara. From fashion and entertainment: Melissa Satta, designer and influencer Gilda Ambrosio, and international actress and model Jodie Turner-Smith. Representing the sporting world was Federica Brignone, the Italian alpine skiing star.
