Victor Froholdt picked out Porto’s home meeting with Atlético de Madrid, in which he scored, as the night he established himself and showed the city he was ready for the season.
According to O Jogo, the Danish midfielder’s reflections feature in the opening episode of the documentary “Conseguimos juntos”, where Luuk de Jong and goalkeeper Cláudio Ramos also discuss the early 2025/26 season.
De Jong recalled plotting a surprise unveiling with head coach Francesco Farioli and the president. He travelled incognito in a hat, kept to quiet areas, even hid while boarding, then walked into the dressing room to shock team-mates before stepping onto the pitch to a genuinely stunned crowd.
Froholdt said he arrived as an introvert in a new environment and needed time to feel comfortable. Help from team-mates and staff changed him, and he now feels at home in Porto, especially within the club. He described the supporters as football fanatics who adore their team.
Ramos, at the Dragão since 2020, highlighted the squad’s visit to the FC Porto Museum. He said the club rarely makes such trips and that, in his six years, it was the first time the team had gone together. Hearing from former players about their achievements and how they lived the club left a strong message.
