New branding at annual general meeting

European Football Clubs (EFC) – formerly the European Club Association – unveiled its new identity and branding at its General Assembly in Rome this week. The new name places football firmly at the centre of the organisation and underscores its mission to effectively represent, strengthen and protect the interests of all member clubs.

We have been a member of the ECA and the EFC since 2020, and our CEO Stephan Reiter has even been a member of the association's board since 2023.

For us, as a club from a smaller league, the EFC association is an essential voice at the European level. We can help shape things, contribute our experience, and at the same time benefit from the developments that advance European football as a whole. Especially in recent years, the organisation has grown enormously, with over 800 member clubs now, and this transformation is also reflected in the new identity.

Since 2008, the EFC has acted as a unified voice for men's and women's clubs of all sizes from across Europe, with the aim of helping each member club develop and ensuring that they collectively play a central role in decision-making at regional and global levels.

For example, this year the club association acted as a representative of the European teams at the FIFA Club World Cup and, through its strategic partnership with UEFA and FIFA, is committed, among other things, to annual solidarity payments for clubs that do not participate in international competitions.

Looking ahead, the EFC remains committed to working proactively with UEFA, FIFA, and other global stakeholders to ensure that the voice of the clubs remains at the heart of football's governance.
