From Liga Esperancina keeper to Argentine top-flight debut

This Sunday, Javier Vallejos, who is originally from Nelson, made his debut in the first division of professional soccer.

In the match in which Central Córdoba lost 3-1, Alan Aguerre got injured and was replaced by Javier Vallejos.

Vallejos came up through the youth divisions of Libertad de Nelson, although back in 2010 he shared a youth academy squad with Juan Ignacio Nardoni, who currently plays for Grêmio in Brazil.

He later spent time at Colón and, after becoming a free agent, joined Central Córdoba’s youth ranks. With humility and dedication, the young goalkeeper kept progressing at the club until reaching the reserve team in 2025.
