Vasco made 13 signings in 2025, a mixed return now ranked. According to Globo.com, Pedrinho’s hierarchy head into 2026 with limited funds and a packed calendar across the Brasileirão, Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil.
Top, Nuno Moreira adapted immediately, 56 games, 11 goals and seven assists. Andrés Gómez rose late with seven assists in 21. Carlos Cuesta became a starter, 17 games and one goal, with Vasco planning to extend his Galatasaray loan.
Robert Renan impressed in build-up and converted the quarter-final shootout penalty against Botafogo, though Diniz said his defending still needs work. Thiago Mendes, first of the Admar Lopes era, started slowly then excelled beside Barros, long admired by Diniz.
Tchê Tchê shone for months before a thigh injury against Corinthians in August, then lost his place. Lucas Freitas arrived free as fourth-choice, yet finished with a centre-back high of 37 games before dropping down the order.
Lucas Oliveira began as first choice, slipped during the Carioca and finished on 15 games, with an agreement at Ceará. Matheus França’s Crystal Palace loan yielded 19 appearances without a goal involvement. Reserve keeper Daniel Fuzato’s two league starts brought eight conceded, contract runs to 2026.
Garré, signed for 2.5 million euros from Krylya Sovetov, started under Carille then never under Diniz, even on the final day. Mauricio Lemos played nine times, was dropped for the Copa do Brasil final and left on 31 December. Loide Augusto cost 1.5 million euros and only converted a shootout penalty against Operário-PR.
