Fulham are reportedly leading the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.

Manchester United are prepared to listen to offers for most of their players this summer, with a squad overhaul on the agenda.

It remains to be seen how long it will take to complete the squad overhaul, but fans aren’t naïve to expect everything to be perfect after the first summer transfer window. The fans know it will take longer than that for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co to get things right at United.

However, with a list of players available for sale, reports from Manchester World suggest Fulham are currently favourites to sign McTominay, with coach Marco Silva keen on bringing him to Craven Cottage.

This means McTominay could reunite with former United midfielder Andreas Pereira, who has gone from strength to strength since joining Silva’s side.

The report adds that Fulham aren’t the only Premier League club chasing the 27-year-old. McTominay is also attracting interest from Newcastle, West Ham and Southampton.

After Scotland were knocked out of the European Championship, McTominay has the rest of the summer off to prepare for the new season.

It remains to be seen if he will still be a Manchester United player.

McTominay should be kept

McTominay scored seven times in 32 Premier League appearances for United last season. I know it was a dire campaign for the team, but nobody can deny that McTominay was influential in some key moments.

The Scotland international was given a new role under Erik ten Hag. McTominay would start in midfield but push forward more often than he would defend, hence why he started scoring more goals.

McTominay’s current deal at United expires in 2025, which explains why there are so many Premier League clubs sniffing around the player.
