Fulham travel to St James’ Park today aiming to achieve a rare feat against Newcastle United.
After completing a league double over the Magpies last season, Marco Silva’s side now seek a third consecutive victory against them. This is something they have not managed previously in the top flight. The Cottagers arrive, however, in the midst of a worrying slump.
Specifically, they have lost their last three Premier League games. Furthermore, injuries have hit their squad hard, particularly affecting the defence. Despite these issues, Fulham will take confidence from their recent successes against Newcastle as they seek a vital away result.
Marco Silva has received some positive news regarding player fitness. Midfielder Sasa Lukic is back in contention after recovering from injury. Furthermore, defender Kenny Tete is also available and pushing for a start following a good week of training. However, the manager still faces significant absences elsewhere. Defenders Joachim Andersen and Antonee Robinson are both ruled out. Likewise, attackers Samuel Chukwueze and Rodrigo Muniz are unavailable. Adding to the concerns, Harry Wilson also remains a doubt for the match.
Up front, Raúl Jiménez is expected to lead the line. Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi prepares for a personal milestone as he is set to make his 300th Premier League appearance. Indeed, achieving this landmark would make Iwobi the first Nigerian player ever to reach 300 Premier League games. Furthermore, he would become only the fifth African player overall to hit that impressive total. He joins an elite list that includes Kolo Touré (353), Mohamed Salah (309), Wilfried Zaha (305), and Jordan Ayew (305).
Fulham predicted XI: Leno; Castagne, Tete, Cuenca, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic, Cairney; King, Iwobi; Jiménez.
The Premier League fixture takes place at St James’ Park today, Saturday, 25 October 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm BST.
The match will not air live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm Saturday blackout.
