Both the futures of Rafael Borré and Lucas Alario at Eintracht Frankfurt are uncertain as they both have played very little and have also struggled to play ahead of Randal Kolo Muani.
The strikers are reportedly “not satisfied” according to Sporting Director Markus Krösche when speaking to Bild. Alario has only started two games for Frankfurt this season and scored one goal in the league. However, in their two friendlies over the break, Alario scored three times against Sandhausen and Atalanta.
Discussing the Argentine’s situation, Krösche said: “It was not an easy year for Lucas. He came from Leverkusen, where he didn’t play much, and wanted a lot of appearances here. It hasn’t worked out so far, and it’s not easy for the mind. The same goes for Rafa, who was indispensable last season. But they handle it professionally.”
The future of Borré, who played a key part in Frankfurt’s Europa League win, is also not so certain – He has a contract that runs until 2025 and Krösche further added: “He’s not 100 percent happy, but he’s not unhappy either. Rafa is an important part of our squad and it’s not our goal to ditch him in the winter.”
Borré scored 12 goals for Frankfurt last season on their way to winning the Europa League. The 27-year-old scored the winning penalty against Rangers in the final, in what was his first season at the club having joined from River Plate the summer prior.
