Gabriel Bontempo has drawn enquiries from the Premier League, Türkiye and other European leagues, with clubs sounding out his situation at Santos. According to Diario Do Peixe, no official offer has been made. The player has been told of interest from a manager abroad and talks could quicken in the coming weeks as the window nears its end.
Santos are wrestling with a severe financial crisis and have received a transfer ban over a debt of about R$ 12 million to Monaco. The club need to move players in this window. Mateus Xavier, also on European radars, has sustained a foot fracture, undergone surgery and is expected to be out for around two months.
Bontempo’s stock is high. Last week he was handed the number eight shirt with the approval of Elano, the club idol and now academy football manager. This season he has five goals and four assists in 31 outings, including four goals and three assists in his past 10 matches, an involvement every 122 minutes.
He broke into the first team last year and is now a fixture, part of Cuca’s core this season. He has signed four renewals in two years and is under contract until December 2030.
In 2025 he began in the Copinha, then stepped up to make his senior debut in the Paulistão and did not return to the youth ranks. He has eight goals and six assists in 68 official appearances.
