According to Diario Do Peixe, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to hand the Santos attacking midfielder another chance. Brazil opened the window with a 1-1 draw against Australia at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on Friday 25, when Bontempo remained on the bench.

He then impressed in the second game, a 4-2 win over Australia at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Tuesday 29. He set up Vanderson’s early opener and was substituted 16 minutes into the second half.

This SuperData Fifa marks early steps towards the 2030 World Cup. Bontempo is the only Santos player in the Italian coach’s squad alongside 25 others.

Brazil have another FIFA window in November, when they face Japan and Singapore in further friendlies.
