Gabriel Brás was unveiled by Dutch side NEC on Thursday after joining on loan from FC Porto. The 22-year-old defender spent much of pre-season under Francesco Farioli and this is his first move abroad.

According to O Jogo, the Nijmegen club will pay a €100,000 loan fee and hold an option to buy 50 per cent of his rights for €1,250,000. Brás has been with Porto since 2017.

Known as Gabi to team-mates, he captained Porto B.

In the Netherlands, he could gain top-flight experience and even feature in European competition.

NEC will face Bodo/Glimt in the play-off for a place in the Champions League league phase.
