According to ESPN, Grémio are to use part of the 11 million euros from Gabriel Mec’s sale to FC Porto to clear an outstanding debt linked to Pepê’s 2021 move. The money cannot be diverted to other purposes.
The Brazilian club acknowledged in court a 3.2 million euros liability owed to agent Giuliano Bertolucci over his role in the Pepê deal. The sum will be paid in two instalments.
FC Porto announced Gabriel Mec as a signing on 2 September. The 18-year-old winger joined from Grémio on a five-year contract with an 80 million euros release clause.
The initial fee could rise to 12 million euros if sporting objectives are met.
Grémio retained 12% of any future capital gain and will handle the solidarity mechanism owed to third parties.
