Leeds United team-mates Gabriel Gudmundsson and Tarik Muharemovic meet tonight as Sweden visit Bosnia in the Nations League. Both have enjoyed unbeaten international breaks, with Sweden top of their group on six points and Bosnia needing a win to go first.
Gudmundsson came on late in a 2-1 win over Romania, then played the full 90 in a 3-1 victory against Poland. Muharemovic started both Bosnia matches, kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Poland and scored a towering header in a 4-2 defeat of Romania, earning Man of the Match.
"It'll be nice to see Tarik in Bosnia on Friday," Gudmundsson said. "We've had two good games here before traveling down. And I think Bosnia also had a good start, so it's going to be a tough game. We know that Bosnia is a very stable and decent team, they've shown that from the last games, and in the World Cup. They are difficult to beat, strong, strong players. It's going to be a fight." The comments were made to Leeds United’s website.
Muharemovic, a summer signing from Sassuolo, has quickly become a favourite and a fixture under Daniel Farke. He is one of only three outfielders to play every available Premier League minute, alongside Ethan Ampadu and James Justin.
“Yeah, I will face Gabi on Friday and I just can’t wait to see him again,” Muharemovic said. “It is going to be a hard game and a good game. We will prepare well. We have good analysis so, yeah, we are ready. Of course, we know it is also a sad day for us in Bosnia because our biggest player [Edin Dzeko] is having his last game and especially because of this, we want to achieve all three points.”
