The Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus was the last of the seven signings that FC Barcelona made in the summer transfer window. The Blaugranes got him from Arsenal for around €10 million to fill in the clear deficit of a center-forward, which emerged following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

Only a few days after his arrival, Mundo Deportivo notes that he has already made his debut for the Blaugrana team, as he was substituted onto the pitch by Hansi Flick for Pedri in the 81st minute of the fourth La Liga match of the season, against Valencia, which ended in a 0-5 win for Barcelona.

By the time he stepped onto the pitch, the game was already practically decided in favor of the Catalan team, which enjoyed a 4-0 advantage. However, the Brazilian still took advantage of this situation to show what he brings to the team, as he kept moving around in the forward line, offering a different style and new solutions to the team’s attack.

From his very first minutes in a Barcelona jersey, he showed his characteristic attributes, i.e., mobility, intensity, and a propensity to attack spaces. For now, it is clear that he still needs time and rhythm to get to his best level with the Blaugrana team, but these first few minutes still showed what he can bring to the team.

Needless to say, his appearances in the Barcelona jersey might be more challenging than this one was, as the match was already decided when he stepped on the pitch. But with his experience of playing at the highest level, one has good reason to expect him to overcome any problems and make himself a beloved player for the Camp Nou faithful. Hopefully, Hansi Flick will give him enough opportunities and confidence to showcase his talents and help the team win some big titles.
