Grêmio have accepted Shakhtar Donetsk’s offer for Gabriel Mec and are waiting on the midfielder’s decision. The player is not rushing the call.

According to Globo.com, Mec and his representatives are weighing the proposal alongside other projects before choosing whether to join the Ukrainian club. He has not ruled out moving to Ukraine and regards the choice as a major step in his career.

Those close to Mec deny he and his camp requested a departure in this window. Internally at Grêmio, there had been talk that he wished to head to Europe now.

People close to the player view market interest and a possible move as a natural response to his recent performances. Mec is understood to hold the club in high regard and value his path from the academy.

The bid is 12 million euros, plus bonuses linked to targets. It is the only offer received so far, and the club had viewed a sale as likely in recent weeks.

Shakhtar also offered 15 million euros last year, which Mec declined as he prioritised other European leagues.

Separately, Grêmio have agreed the sale of defender Viery to Fiorentina for R$ 88 million fixed, potentially rising to R$ 100 million with targets.
