Gabriel Pereira, a Corinthians academy graduate, is into a new campaign with Al-Rayyan in Qatar and is under contract until June 2028. The 25-year-old attacker continues to build after his move.

He joined Corinthians in 2018 after Guarani, stepped up to the first team in 2020 and debuted against Atlético Mineiro in the Brasileiro. He made 47 appearances for the club and scored two goals.

His breakthrough year came in 2021, when he featured 32 times and scored twice. He opened his account on 12 September in a 1-1 draw with Atlético Goianiense, then netted in a 1-0 win over Fluminense a month later. A new contract was signed but never registered, as Corinthians would have lost 5% of his economic rights, leaving them with 65%.

In March 2022 he moved to New York City, with Corinthians receiving about US$ 5.5 million for 70% of his rights, roughly R$ 19 million at the time, and keeping a future sell-on element. He scored nine in 33 in his first full season and lifted the 2022 Campeones Cup, leaving with 56 matches and 15 goals.

Al-Rayyan signed him in July 2023 for US$ 10 million, a deal that also returned money to Corinthians under previous mechanisms.

He has opened the 2026/27 Qatar Stars League with one goal and one assist in 329 minutes. He scored in a 1-0 win over Lusail and set up a 2-1 victory against Al-Wakrah.

Pereira wears the number 11, plays mainly off the left and favours his left foot. Corinthians no longer hold economic rights, though they are due 1.5% via FIFA’s solidarity mechanism on any future transfer.
