While there have been no incomings or outgoings at the first-team level on deadline day, Manchester United have been kept busy with academy loans.
Gabriele Biancheri is the latest to seal a last-minute loan exit to Rotherham United in League One, as officially confirmed by the club website.
The Millers already have Dan Gore on board, so this should help the 19-year-old striker settle into his new surroundings.
“Gabriele Biancheri has agreed his first loan move away from Manchester United. The Wales Under-21 international will gain experience with Rotherham United, for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
“Rotherham currently sit 20th in League One and also have United loanee Dan Gore on their books.”
The Wales U21 international is embarking on the first loan of his career and will be hoping to make it count as he seeks to break through into the United first team.
He has clearly outgrown academy football, as seen from his incredible stats from both the U21 and U18 level.
This season, the Welshman has scored eight goals and provided four assists for the United U21 side, including a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2 and a superb brace against Borussia Dortmund in the Premier League International Cup.
He has won both the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League Cup while scoring 26 goals in 40 games for the U18s.
There were murmurs that Ruben Amorim could turn to the former Cardiff starlet last season as the first team struggled for goals.
But a breakthrough never materialised, and finally, the Red Devils felt it was best to not keep him at Carrington and stagnate his development any further.
Interestingly, there was interest from Real Betis in the Carrington graduate as per Football Insider, who have claimed that the La Liga side submitted an offer to buy the versatile forward on a permanent deal.
United did not want to lose Gabriele Biancheri, and hence rejected Betis, and instead agreed to send him to League One.
“Man United have agreed a deal to loan striker Gabriele Biancheri to Rotherham, sources have told Football Insider.
“The Red Devils rejected a permanent offer from Real Betis in favour of sending him on loan to the League One club until the end of the season.”
