Galatasaray were knocked out by Liverpool after a 4-0 defeat at Anfield in the Champions League round of 16, compounded by injuries to Victor Osimhen and Noa Lang.

The club said in a statement that Osimhen took a blow to his arm in the first half and did not return after the break because tests at half-time indicated a possible fracture.

A post-match hospital assessment confirmed a fracture to his right forearm and a cast has been applied. Further evaluations will determine in the coming days whether surgery is required.

Lang sustained a deep cut to his right thumb in the second half and will undergo surgery in Liverpool in the coming hours, with Galatasaray’s medical staff present.

Osimhen leaves Europe with 10 Champions League appearances, seven goals and three assists. In the league he has 12 goals and four assists from 19 appearances.

Lang, a winter signing, has six Super Lig outings with two assists. He has four Champions League appearances and two goals, a brace against Juventus in the 5-2 first-leg play-off, plus one domestic cup appearance.
