Galatasaray are monitoring Antonio Rudiger’s situation at Real Madrid, with a view to a potential free transfer in summer 2026.

AS reports that the Istanbul club dream of landing the 32-year-old on a free to add leadership, with his current deal due to expire on 30 June.

Under FIFA rules they can open pre-contract talks from the start of January. They hope to exploit Real Madrid’s reluctance to hand long-term extensions to outfield players over 30.

Madrid have not made a definitive move, which has left the door ajar. Galatasaray are ready to offer emotional pull and a central role, which could appeal if the one-year renewal policy leaves Rudiger feeling under-valued.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also linked, with both exploring the free-agent market for elite defenders.

Galatasaray could offer a guaranteed starting place and their growing pull for elite signings could tilt matters. Landing Rudiger would be a statement as they look to cement their European standing.

Coaches are keen on his physical, aggressive profile. With 2026/27 preparation in mind, attention in Türkiye will turn to whether Madrid make a counter-offer or leave a clear path for Galatasaray.
