Galatasaray are closing on Rafael Leao in the final days of the window. Sky reports that the Turkish champions have agreements with the Portugal forward and AC Milan, with only minor details to finalise before any announcement.

Leao is set to sign a four-year contract to 2030 on a basic net salary of 10 million euros, with bonuses on top. He is expected to travel to Istanbul on Saturday to complete formalities.

Milan will receive around 43 million euros, potentially rising to 45 million euros with add-ons, along with a 20 per cent sell-on clause.

The move would rank as Galatasaray’s second costliest, with only Victor Osimhen at 75 million euros ahead. They appeared to face competition from city rivals Fenerbahce, while Aston Villa, Champions League participants from England, most recently sought to intervene but could not agree terms with the 27-year-old.

Leao’s Milan contract was valid to 2028. He joined in 2019 and scored 80 goals in 291 competitive games, helping the Rossoneri win Serie A in 2022. He made public his wish to leave in late May and was not in new coach Ruben Amorim’s plans.

At Galatasaray he would become a high-profile rival for Leroy Sane. The Germany international, signed from Bayern Munich in 2025, was criticised after a 2-2 draw with promoted side Corum at the start of the season and was only a substitute in the 4-0 win at Erzurumspor on matchday two.
